Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be set for his first return to manage first-team football after his Manchester United dismissal as Club Brugge consider him as a replacement for Scott Parker.

That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the former Manchester United coach is on the list of options being looked at alongside Dino Toppmoller and Ronny Deila.

Brugge are on the hunt for Parker’s replacement after sacking him at the beginning of March following just four months in charge of the Belgian side.

They are yet to name a permanent replacement but do have their eye on potential candidates, including Standard Liege’s Ronny Deila, who has been impressing with them this season.

Tavolieri reports that Deila is ‘pondering his future’ at the club as a result of the interest, asking the management for sporting guarantees in the transfer window before committing himself further.

He is aware of the interest from Brugge, who have put him on their ‘shortlist’ of candidates alongside Toppmoller and Solskjaer.

Toppmoller is currently a free agent after leaving his role as assistant manager at Bayern Munich at the end of last month.

Solskjaer, meanwhile, has been working as manager at Kristiansund BK’s youth side since September last year after nearly a year out of work following his departure from Manchester United in November 2021.

That, alongside being stung by hiring a former Premier League manager in Parker, hasn’t put off Brugge, though, who apparently have him on their list of options ahead of next season.
