Real Betis are confident of striking an ‘advantageous’ deal with West Ham United for Pablo Fornals having already gotten his seal of approval.

That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say negotiations are underway between the two clubs and the Spanish side are confident they can get a deal that suits them.

The newspaper reports that Betis are ‘determined’ to get Fornals before the end of the window, particularly with Luiz Henrique set to depart and they have already received approval from the West Ham midfielder.

Negotiations in the last few hours with him and his entourage have seen him agree to give up a ‘significant amount’ of the salary he earns at West Ham in order to join Betis this month.

Once Betis completed that step they began direct negotiations with West Ham, initially proposing a loan deal with a purchase option for the player.

That’s unlikely to interest the Hammers but knowing that they have the footballer on their side and that he is only tied to West Ham to 2025, Betis believe that they can reach an agreement that is ‘advantageous’ to their interests.

Fornals is waiting for a deal to be struck but he is ‘determined’ to move to Heliópolis and has made that clear to Betis’ leaders, even rejecting other proposals that have come his way.

Betis are boosted by the fact his agent is the same one who represents Borja Iglesias, meaning the dialogue between those parties is ‘very fluid’ and helping to push things along quickly.
