Turkish newspaper Sabah claim Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has held talks with the agent of Aston Villa attacker Trezeguet.

There have been recent reports Galatasaray are interested in signing the 25 year old, and Sabah claim Cengiz has given the green light to William D’Avila to get his client to Gala this summer.

Galatasaray’s board reportedly have a good relationship with D’Avila after the agent helped the Super Lig club sign the likes of Younes Belhanda, Henry Onyekuru and Garry Rodrigues.

It’s reported he will take charge of the negotiations with Aston Villa, and will report back to Cengiz.

However, Sabah say that despite Trezeguet’s intentions to play for Galatasaray, Villa will look to keep him in the squad if they manage to maintain their Premier League status for next season.

Trezeguet has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals. His contract with at Villa Park will expire at the end of June 2023.
