Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armando Broja are currently the recognised strikers at Chelsea. The latter has been forced to settle for limited game time this term and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Recent claims have indicated the west London club will look at a new striker in the coming windows.

According to InterLive.it, Chelsea could be added to the list of sides chasing Inter Milan star Lautaro Martínez.

The Blues have the economic strength to ‘present a cash offer close to Inter’s request’ for the 25-year-old The other option is to include Romelu Lukaku as a part of the deal for the Argentina international.

In the last transfer window, Chelsea allowed Lukaku to return to the San Siro on loan. The Belgian is keen to extend his stay with the Nerazzurri beyond the temporary deal.

Chelsea could ‘take advantage’ of this and offer Lukaku plus €40m fee in exchange for Martínez next summer.

However, Graham Potter’s side are unlikely to succeed with this formula because Inter’s response would ‘undoubtedly be negative’.

This may see the Premier League side ‘present a cash offer’ to take Martínez away from Inter after this season, where he has managed seven goals and four assists so far.
