The end of the summer window was never a reason for Inter Milan fullback Denzel Dumfries to stop being linked to Chelsea.

Rumours about the Blues going after him continue to be reported in the Italian media, and Inter Live is the latest outlet to talk about it.

The website today features a story claiming the Nerazzurri must watch their back regarding some of the important players in the team, as they may soon be leaving the squad.

They highlight the ‘particular attention’ Inter Milan must have for Dumfries, as Chelsea are set to return for his signing ‘between January or the next summer’.

It’s said the Blues could spend €40m on the transfer. Plus they’d offer Dumfries a salary worth €5m per season, which is exactly double what he earns in Italy.

Saying that’s €8m gross in a five-year contract, that’s another €40m. So added to the transfer fee, Inter Live says Chelsea want to make an investment worth €80m to have the Dutchman, and those numbers are ‘too high to go unnoticed’.
