Marc Cucurella’s situation has been getting plenty of coverage in the Spanish media, as the Brighton & Hove Albion player continues to be tempted by an exit this summer.

The Spaniard had mainly been linked with Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola looks to add a fullback to his squad this summer. However, the Blues are now moving to hijack the deal, and Sport say Chelsea ‘enter the scene’ to try and get a deal done.

As it stands, the Premier League champions don’t want to pay the €60m that Brighton are asking for their player, and the situation has allowed Chelsea to move forward.

Clearly, the London club would only be able to push ahead if they’re offering close to what the Seagulls want, and presumably they’d have to be ready and able to hit €60m or very near to it.

Sport say Cucurella moving to Stamford Bridge would make a Marcos Alonso exit all the likelier, and help him finally get the switch to Barcelona which has been talked about since before the summer window opened.
