Brighton & Hove Albion have FC Saarbrücken’s Luca Kerber on their agenda, according to a report from Germany.
Operating as a defensive, central and attacking midfielder, he has managed three goals and three assists from 24 matches for the third division German club.
His performances have caught the attention of Brighton and two other clubs. That’s according to EXPRESS.de, who have a report that focuses mainly on FC Köln interest in the 21-year-old.
Köln manager Steffen Baumgart watched Saarbrücken’s 2-0 win over Wehen Wiesbaden at the weekend. This match allowed him to take a closer look at Kerber, even though he’s been on the Bundesliga side’s radar since January.
Kerber’s impressive displays are enough for both Köln and Baumgart to closely follow him. They have to be wary about Brighton and FC Lorient as these two sides have the player on their target list. That’s all the report has to say about the Seagulls.
The German’s deal expires in 2024 and if he were to leave in the summer, Saarbrücken would be in line to receive a ‘mid six-digit range’ sum.
Back in January, Bild stated Brighton looked at Kerber but didn’t make an approach for him in the winter market.
