Swansea City midfielder Gonçalo Franco has spoken to the Portuguese media about life with his new club and his aims for the future.
The 23-year-old joined the Championship side during the last transfer window for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Speaking to O Jogo, Franco said he was enjoying his time with the Swans and that his first thoughts are helping the team, along giving something back to the fans.
However, the player says he has ambitions to one day play in the Premier League and his move to Swansea City was a step on the ladder to achieve this.
“I just think about working and helping the team, to give the fans the joy they deserve. I am moved by the start of the game, the anthem and the vibration of the stadium with one voice. I’m here to climb the ladder, I have the dream of playing in the Premier League and I looked at this invitation from that perspective.
“Swansea’s path is to win as many games as possible, always thinking one at a time and, in the end, we do the math. Honestly, we have a great squad and beautiful things can happen this season,“ said the Swansea City man.
Franco signed a four-year deal with Swansea City in July after arriving from Portuguese club Moreirense F.C. He’d spent four seasons with the Liga Portugal club.
The midfielder has started eight of Swansea City’s opening nine league games this season.
