L’Equipe really believe Jordan Amavi to AS Monaco is a deal close to completion.
On Monday the French newspaper reported confidence at Marseille that a deal could be found with Aston Villa, and a transfer completed quickly.
On Tuesday that’s followed by more of the same.
Andoni Zubizarreta’s efforts and talents at persuading players to join Marseille are detailed, with L’Equipe saying the sporting director of footballer can spend more than four hours doing just that.
Zubi has been active for ‘several days’ on the Amavi front and explained to the Aston Villa player that not only does he have great potential, but a role to play for Marseille right now.
With Patrice Evra already at Marseille, Amavi may have been reluctant to leave Aston Villa to sit on a bench in France, but Zubi has assured him there’ll be plenty of opportunities.
Aston Villa and Marseille are ‘close to an agreement’, after an offer was made which comprises of a loan deal automatically turning into a €10m permanent transfer.
L’Equipe say there’s hope it could all be sorted out by the end of the week.
