All of a sudden, there’s been some noise in Brazil about Gabriel Jesus potentially leaving Arsenal for Palmeiras.

With the Verdão losing Endrick to Real Madrid in the summer, they’re expected to have a decent budget to sign a replacement, and the Gunners’ forward was rumoured as a possibility.

Journalist Jorge Nicola, explaining that he’s been bombarded with questions about this scenario, has now published a video explaining how unlikely that transfer actually is.

It all starts with the fact that Gabriel Jesus has a contract with Arsenal until 2027, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €70m, so Palmeiras surely can’t afford the transfer.

Plus, even if a deal was agreed, Nicola claims that the striker’s salary at Arsenal is worth 1/3 of Palmeiras’ entire age budget.

That’s why the journalist says there’s ‘zero chance’ the move would happen, and fans should ‘forget’ about it, at least for the coming years.

A big reason for this rumour has been that Jesus is no longer a regular starter at Arsenal. Still, he has decent numbers for a rotation player, with eight goals and seven assists this season.
