It seems the Championship clash between Watford and Sunderland this weekend will receive a special visit from a national team manager.
According to La Taniere, relayed by Camfoot, Cameroon coach Marc Brys will be at Vicarage Road tomorrow.
His reason to watch Watford playing Sunderland is to see Black Cats’ midfielder Pierre Ekwah, who is ‘in the crosshairs’ of the national side.
The story claims that Brys has been doing a little European tour to find the talents that Cameroon can use in the upcoming tournaments, and Ekwah is one of those on the list.
The coach has recently been appointed as the new Cameroon manager, so it’s actually quite important that he does this work, identifying those who’ll be with him for the next few years.
It’s highlighted how Ekwah has succeeded at Sunderland this season, becoming one of their ‘major assets’ in the team, despite their failure to get promotion to the Premier League.
Now even though the Black Cats and Watford don’t have a lot to play for, the midfielder will surely have a personal reason to impress the new boss.
