It seems Ismaïla Sarr could soon be on his way back to England, a year after leaving Watford.
That’s today reported by L’Equipe, who, relayed by Le10Sport, lists some players who should on their way out of Marseille at the end of the season.
Sarr joined the French side last summer, in a €13m deal from Watford, and wasn’t exactly impressive in his first year in Ligue 1.
The winger has five goals and six assists in 30 appearances so far, and whilst certainly not terrible, Marseille have decided he’s not good enough.
L’Equipe then labels Sarr as one of the flops in the squad, and points out that he should return to England in the summer.
There seems to be no information on Premier League or Championship clubs actually working on his signing, and it’s likely hoped that he may have a better market there.
In his final season with Watford, Sarr had ten goals and six assists in 39 appearances. Perhaps that was enough to leave a good image for a potential Championship comeback.
