With Manchester United scouting multiple Portuguese league matches every weekend, their visits to Porto, Benfica and Sporting are never really a surprise.

It turns out that as newspaper Record writes about the Dragons’ game, they give quite some attention to the Red Devils’ mission this time.

The outlet writes that match between Chaves and Porto had a ‘luxury spy’ from Manchester United.

Also, when reporting lists of scouts, Portuguese newspapers don’t usually point out who the emissaries could be watching. This time, Record recalls the links between the Red Devils and Dragons’ goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

Those rumours have been forgotten for a while, as Manchester United were said to be chasing him to replace David De Gea. Once they signed Andre Onana from Inter Milan, there was obviously no reason to look for another alternative.

Onana hasn’t had a dream debut season at Old Trafford, though, so we’ll see if those stories will be back at some point in the summer. Other Porto players such as Evanilson, Galeno, Alan Varela and Francisco Conceição could also be drawing some attention.
