Jordan Amavi looks like he’s edging closer to the Aston Villa exit.

After Saturday’s edition of L’Equipe explained Marseille were formulating a €10m offer for the fullback, their Monday edition continues on the same story.

Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, formerly of Barcelona, is the man tasked with leading the operation, and L’Equipe believe he’s taking the possible Aston Villa transfer forward.

Amavi would move to Marseille on loan with an automatic purchase option of around €10m. It’s a better figure than the original €7m which RMC suggested Aston Villa could be selling the player for.

Marseille are still under some pressure, with L’Equipe saying Fiorentina, who signed Jordan Veretout from Aston Villa recently, have returned to the possible transfer, and Nice also remain interested.

L’Equipe still believe Marseille are the likeliest to get a deal done with Aston Villa for Amavi. The French newspaper say sources at the club are ‘confident’ a deal can be completed ‘in the coming days’.
