William Saliba returned to Arsenal after spending the previous season on loan at Marseille and his displays for the Ligue 1 side helped him earn a place in Mikel Arteta’s plans this term.

The Gunners have won all of their league matches and the centre-back has impressed for them in these three fixtures.

Folarin Balogun has followed in Saliba’s footsteps as the Arsenal man joined Stade de Reims on a loan deal earlier this month.

Having suffered two defeats, the French club settled for a 1-1 draw against RC Strasbourg at the weekend.

Stade de Reims have scored four goals from the first there matches and the 21-year-old has had a direct role in all of these goals scored, having scored three and assisted the other.

L’Equipe explain this all started when the England U21 international had a ‘thunderous’ start, kicked off when he came off the bench to find the back of the net in Reims’ 4-1 defeat to Marseille.

The striker was on the French club’s list for the last three years, and their good relationship with his agent and the Premier League side helped them get ahead of other suitors in signing him.

If Balogun continues to shine for Reims, L’Equipe say Arsenal ‘won’t be able to ignore’ him much longer, just like what happened with Saliba.
