Tony Pulis target is on a plate, West Brom have already offered €10m for the player

 

In the January 2015 transfer window, Tony Pulis, still relatively new at West Brom, encouraged the club to move for Cheikh N’Doye.

French newspaper L’Equipe reported a €10m offer from West Brom for the player, but Angers stood firm. It wasn’t that €10m was considered too little, the bigger Angers problem was they’d already sold two important players, and losing another during the winter window was out of the question.

If West Brom did return the following summer then their offer didn’t reach €10m, because if so it would have been accepted. With a year left on his Angers contract, it was the right time for N’Doye to leave.

But he didn’t, and now he’s available on a free transfer. At 31 years of age, some may view N’Doye as coming towards the end of his career, but in reality the midfielder has only improved in recent seasons.

The chance to sign a player for free who West Brom offered €10m for just 18 months ago? It doesn’t sound like the worst idea.
