While Ralf Rangnick has decided to give youth a bit of a go at Manchester United since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis, he still hasn’t trusted Hannibal Mejbri with some minutes.
The Tunisia international, currently with his national team, has just the one appearance for the Red Devils to his name so far, which came in the Premier League last season, coming on for eight minutes in a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers during the last game of the campaign.
He’s yet to get his first start, but with the talent clearly there for all to see with his performances at U23 level, the 19-year-old can’t be far off, and he’s looking forward to it all.
Speaking to TN Sport, he said: “All the experience to gain, I’ll take it, whether it be in training, on the bench or, even if I’ve not had the chance play yet, but maybe in the future… As soon as I get the chance, I’ll take the experience I have and I’ll show what I can do.”
He replied: “Of course he encourages us, because the more players that go to the World Cup, the better it is for the club, but no special message.”
The article does state the player said he was ‘waiting with impatience’ to make his first appearance for the Manchester United first-team, but the video attached does not have Mejbri saying those words.
Either way, that’s probably a given, because it’s normal for any youngster to want to feature with the rest of the stars already at the club.
