Rangers will have to move quickly if they wish to bring Rafa Santos Borre to the Ibrox this summer, with Eintracht Frankfurt pushing for a deal.
That’s according to BILD, who say the German club have been in contact with the striker for ‘a good three months’ about a potential move.
They say a four-year deal is already being discussed between Frankfurt and Santos Borre, who is a free agent after his contract with River Plate expired, which will be one of the reasons why Steven Gerrard’s side were so interested.
Eintracht are focusing on a deal as they seek a replacement for André Silva’s successor, with the Portuguese star set to join RB Leipzig.
They are, though, the ones leading the race, having held talks for three months about a deal and a free transfer now possible after his contract at River Plate expired.
The Colombian is one of two strikers on Frankfurt’s list of options, and the striker is keen on the move, with it explained he feels ‘strong enough’ for his next attempt at Europe after his earlier struggles at Atlético Madrid.
It appears they are now looking to seal a deal; meaning Rangers and Steven Gerrard will have to move very quickly and efficiently if they really are as keen on Borre as reports have made out.
