Earlier on Tuesday, we relayed a report from the French media that Manchester United are taking a very serious interest in Facundo Medina.
The young centre-back currently plays for RC Lens in Ligue 1 and earned his first Argentina cap back in October, catching the eye of the Red Devils in the process, according to La Voix du Nord.
While there is no offer yet, it was suggested Manchester United could ‘rapidly and officially’ make a €12m bid for the 21-year-old before sending Medina back to Lens for the rest of the season.
Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday, and relayed by Le10 Sport, he said: “Can we lose Medina this winter? We can lose any player at the moment because it’s an open transfer window. This goes beyond me.”
That means that should a good enough offer arrive from Carrington on the Ligue 1 club’s desk, there’s a chance it could be accepted.
The ball is firmly in Ed Woodward’s court.
