Newcastle United continue to be hit by the impact of a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

Beating West Brom 2-1 on Saturday, they find themselves tenth in the Premier League, although they have a game in hand on several clubs around them.

The outbreak of the virus has already seen Steve Bruce’s side have to postpone an earlier match against Aston Villa, and now the manager has to deal with the ongoing impact to the players who tested positive.

Swiss news portal RSI states Fabian Schär is one of those players, explaining Blick, a newspaper from the country, were informed the Newcastle player has been suffering ‘quite evident symptoms’.

They report he’ll have to enter self isolation for at least ten days, although it’s not made clear whether that ten days is from today or had already started.

It’s even stated that Fabian Schär was unable to move for a few days, and it’s clear this hasn’t been a case of a player testing positive despite not displaying any signs of the virus.
