Jan Vertonghen’s contract situation at Tottenham Hotspur makes him an interesting option for Inter Milan.
His current deal expires in 2020 and Sky Italia reported on Monday the Nerazzurri ‘like’ the 32-year-old.
Another Italian outlet Calciomercato now claims Inter tried to sign the centre-back in January of this year, but their plans were crushed when his Spurs deal was extended.
The Belgium international turns 33 in April, but his age wouldn’t be an issue for Antonio Conte’s side as he’s still appreciated at the San Siro. Inter are attentive to the defender’s situation and have been in touch with his entourage.
The club are looking to sign a pre-contract with a player in January ahead of a free transfer in the summer. Their idea is to have an experienced defender for the next campaign.
The report also states the Italian side have already tabled a contract offer for at least two seasons.
