In mid June, Marc Navarro joined Watford from Espanyol in a cut-price deal costing the Hornets just €2m.
At the time, Espanyol said they were completely satisfied with the transfer as they have plenty of cover in the fullback positions, but they surely have some regrets about only getting such a low transfer fee.
The 23 year old has already made his Premier League debut and already has two matches completed in the League Cup, he’s a good squad option for Javi Gracia and hopefully much more for the future.
Speaking to Radio Marca on Monday morning, the Watford player has been asked about the differences between football in Spain and England, and explained: “The experience is very good, it’s a big league change, but I’m very happy, the game is a bit more direct here, there are more aerial balls, but football is also very nice.”
That’s the type of answer with something to please both a Spanish and English audience.
Navarro being childhood friends with Hector Bellerin has understandably been covered a lot in the Spanish media, and Marca asked the Watford player about that too: “We both played football as children in my grandmother’s garden, it was a dream to face him in the Premier League.”
Navarro will surely now look to get more Premier League appearances and give Espanyol some more regret.
