Wolverhampton Wanderers have their eyes set on Qingdao West Coast’s Xu Bin, according to China’s Titan Sports.

They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update on Wolves.

The 21-year-old is said to be ‘heading to the UK’ to join Wolves. It’s claimed the Premier League side plan to send him on loan elsewhere after they secure his services.

Sohu, another Chinese outlet, backs up Wolves’ desire to sign the midfielder and provides the latest.

Xu Bin has received a ‘personal invitation’ from the Premier League side. He seems to have accepted it as the report states he has already travelled to Europe to carry out transfer formalities.

The defensive midfielder has just over a month left on his contract with Qingdao West Coast. This means Wolves don’t have to negotiate with the Asian club, and can sign him for free in the winter market.

If there are no obstacles, Sohu reports the China U23 international will be able to seal a move to Wolves in January. They report he isn’t eligible to immediately represent Rob Edwards’ side.

This could be to do with obtaining a work permit. He hasn’t represented China’s senior team or played for a club outside his country. Therefore, Wolves plan to send him on loan elsewhere, if they complete his signing.
