It seems Liverpool aren’t too concerned about Alexander Isak heading off to international duty this week.
Sweden manager Graham Potter has confirmed that Liverpool have made ‘no requests’ regarding the striker for this extended international break.
Isak will be a part of the Sweden squad for the upcoming international break. They take on Romania, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and then Romania again in the Nations League.

The €100m man heads into the break in good form after shaking off the injury problems that plagued his first season at Anfield.
With four goals in five Premier League games, four in seven in all competitions, the 27-year-old is finally repaying back the big fee Liverpool paid to sign him from Liverpool a year ago.
Now it seems Potter is determined to take advantage of that. And he doesn’t intend to keep the Liverpool star sitting out of actions.
“It’s not about rotating for the sake of rotating; we want to win the games and try to field our strongest team in every match,” he said about his selection choices via Fotboll Skanalen.
“There are also many individual players we need to take a look at, and that sometimes plays a role. It’s not quite as simple as just fielding the strongest team. You always have to weigh everything up, but we are going to try to win the matches.”

Start every game, but no 90 minutes
He then further noted that players Viktor Gyökeres and Alexander Isak could start every match under him. Although he did make it clear that doesn’t mean they’ll play 90 minutes every time.
“I think it’s tough to start and play 90 minutes in every match, so that’s a starting point, and then we’ll see how the games go,” he added.
“It’s hard to predict things with matches still ahead of us. “Alex” has played a lot of matches recently and is in a good place; knowing him, he wants to start matches, but we need to see how everyone is doing – how they react and recover.
“Potentially, yes (Gyökeres and Isak could start every match), but without playing every single minute. There is no chance of them playing every minute.”
Then he was asked if Liverpool had made any requests on that front. He insisted he had ‘received no requests’ from Liverpool regarding Isak’s playing time during this international break.
As far as he’s concerned, he has a ‘completely free hand’ on that front, even if Isak has played a lot at the start of the season. That feels like a particularly risky venture from Liverpool.
They can ill afford another Isak injury layoff, even if it’s a minor one. And with Potter seemingly in full Football Manager mode working out how to use everything he has at once, they may now face a nervous few weeks.
