Emmanuel Agbadou’s agent has arrived in Istanbul today to discuss contract details for the Wolves defender with Beşiktaş. That obviously adds an element of reality to the transfer saga, and show there’s a serious chance of the move happening.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu. He has a photo of the agent in Istanbul airport after his arrival.
Agbadou has been linked with a move to the Turkish side throughout this month already. He appears to be on a list of players that Wolves are prepared to move on this month, despite their fight against relegation.
Beşiktaş have been making efforts for weeks and already have an agreement with Agbadou regarding the move. He is seemingly keen to leave Molineux as well.
Two separate reports yesterday then had Beşiktaş making a new move for the defender. The first of those insisted it was a €14m bid. That was then followed by a claim that a ‘revised’ offer had been sent to Wolves for them to consider.
Both reports made it clear that Agbadou had made it clear to Wolves that he wants to leave. This is something that has been a theme since Beşiktaş interest was first reported.
Wolves transfer picking up pace
Now it appears his agent is pushing things along, and has travelled to Turkey to help him do that. Sabuncuoğlu reports that the agent arrived in Istanbul today to discuss contract details with the Turkish club. Given he was supposed to have finalised this already, perhaps these are just the final stages of the negotiations.
He likely wants everything wrapped up neatly so that once an agreement is done with Wolves, things can progress quickly from there. Should the Agbadou transfer be agreed, then the defender will be set for the typical Turkish airport welcome… something his agent didn’t get to experience.
