Beşiktaş have made a new official offer to Wolves for central defender Emmanuel Agbadou.

That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu. He reports that the Turkish side have made a new offer worth €14m for the Wolves man.

Agbadou has been linked with a move to Besiktas since last month. Reports indicate that multiple players may leave Molineux during the January transfer window.

The first of those reports indicated that Agbadou was open to the move and it has developed from there. Besiktas were believed to have started talks with Wolves on the 19th about a move for the defender.

It’s since been claimed that they’ve seen official offers rejected by Wolves. The latest report, three days ago, then indicated that Agbadou had agreed to an exit. That was seemingly pushing things along.

Now Sabuncuoğlu provides the latest.

According to his information, Beşiktaş have now made a new official offer to Wolves for the player. That is valued at €14m plus bonuses. There is no mention of how Wolves have responded to that bid yet.

Wolves making a quick loss doesn’t make sense

Wolverhampton Wanderers paid €20m for Agbadou last year, so accepting €14m would mean a significant loss. Despite this, the club appears eager to transfer the player, and Agbadou wants to join Besiktas.

That’s at least what the Turkish media is pushing. There’s often over optimism over transfer in Turkey, and that could be the case again with Emmanuel Agbadou. Wolves letting him go now at a loss doesn’t appear to be the best piece of transfer business, and that’s why it’s questionable.

Agbadou certainly seems keen on the move and has appeared so for at least a month, again according to the Turkish slant. That is presumably giving Beşiktaş confidence that they can get it done before the end of this month. They now wait for Wolves to respond to the latest bid.
