Crystal Palace‘s Ismaila Sarr impressed at the World Cup after having a good season with the Eagles. His exit from the London club is now edging closer.

The attacker scored nine times in the 2025/26 campaign. This was more than in the 2024/25 season, when he scored eight times while playing many more games.

This attracted interest from Manchester United, with Sport Witness having covered comments from Sarr about a move to Old Trafford. He clarified that his future will come down to Crystal Palace’s decision, who could now be nearing his sale.

Fenerbahce closing in

Tuttomercatoweb report Fenerbahce are ready to move on from Rafael Leao and want to close a move for Sarr.

The Senegal man is ‘very close’ to joining the Turkish side. The white smoke for the Crystal Palace player can arrive in the ‘next few hours’, with the winger having expressed a willingness to move.

Work is now ongoing between the two clubs to find an agreement. The report doesn’t mention the Eagles’ price.

Leao has rejected a move to Fener, who made formal offers for the Portuguese attacker. But the player, for now, isn’t convinced by the project on offer at the Turkish side.

Our take: Eagles should seek big capital gain

Sarri joined Crystal Palace for only €15m, which has proven to be quite a bargain for a Premier League-proven player. This will also help Pierre Sage’s side earn a capital gain, with Fenerbahce capable of paying a big amount.

The 28-year-old’s current deal in London runs out in 2029.
