Crysencio Summerville’s agent is trying to engineer interest from Aston Villa and Manchester United this summer as the forward seeks to leave West Ham United.
Corriere della Sera report on a potential move to Roma, which has been bubbling under the surface for months. They are keen to sign the Dutchman as they seek to improve their squad for the Champions League next season.
Transfer talks ongoing
Talks with the player’s agents over a move to the Italian capital have intensified in the last few hours. The Giallorossi are pushing to reach an agreement with the West Ham forward, but the sticking point is his wages.
He is asking for €6m a year, and the Italian side don’t want to go beyond €4m. They’re sticking to their guns on that front as they will also have to spend €45m to persuade West Ham to sell one of their star players.
They are not prepared to wait much longer for the transfer to happen. The belief is his agent is ‘playing for time’ and delaying negotiations as much as possible.
Aston Villa and Manchester United interest
He is waiting while also ‘sounding out’ clubs such as Manchester United and Aston Villa. The Premier League dup have recently inquired about the 24-year-old as well. Neither of those clubs have made definitive moves as yet, though, it seems.
Roma don’t intend to allow the matter to drag on, having suffered in a similar way with Mason Greenwood this summer. They’ve set a deadline and will turn to alternatives if a deal isn’t done by that point.
It appears they know that they are being played. Or at least, they are being used by Summerville’s agent to try and drum up more attractive clubs.
And they don’t intend to play that game for too long before giving up entirely and moving on to other potential targets this summer.
