Last night, journalist Venê Casagrande revealed West Ham United’s interest in Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme.
It was claimed that while the Hammers shop in Brazil, having made offers for Flamengo’s Fabricio Bruno and Corinthians’ Wesley, they’re now looking at another target.
West Ham’s interest in Luis Guilherme is now backed up by journalist Jorge Nicola, who actually has stronger claims about this chase.
The reporter says that the Hammers have placed a €25m bid for the teenager, and the offer is currently in Palmeiras’ hands.
The Brazilian club, however, aren’t expected to accept it. That’s because their demand is for €30m, plus 20% of a future transfer.
It now remains to be seen whether West Ham will match Palmeiras’ request, or even if the South American side could accept a lower offer, even because that’s their initial demand.
West Ham were recently claimed to be offering €18m for Wesley, and it seems that once they saw Luis Guilherme, they decided that he’s worth a few more million. Especially because those €25m would probably have been enough to land that first target.
