In the past few weeks, there have been doubts about whether AC Milan will look to sign Kyle Walker permanently from Manchester City.

Last month, it was suggested that the Englishman’s return to the Etihad was the most likely scenario but things are now changing at the San Siro.

MilanLive report today that Walker will stay at Milan and the Rossoneri have made their decision.

They want to close the deal for the right-back as soon as possible and are likely to ask for a discount, even if Manchester City agreed to insert an option to buy for €5m in the loan deal.

Milan want to pay around €3.5m for the defender and there is a feeling in Italy that the Citizens could agree to sell Walker for that fee, as they do not see him as part of their plans anymore.

On the contrary, Sergio Conceicao’s side have now made the decision to use Walker as their starting right-back from next season onwards.

So far this season, the veteran has played 14 times in all competitions for Milan. Even though his stint has been riddled with injury problems, the 34-year-old has shown that he can still operate reliably at a high level.
