Cristhian Mosquera spent nine years at Valencia before leaving them for Arsenal in July.

Last week, the 21-year-old said a chat with Mikel Arteta convinced him to join Arsenal.

The defender was part of the Spain U21 squad during October’s international break, and this gave him an opportunity to return to Valencia.

Marca report the Arsenal player caught up with his former teammates and coaches during his visit to the La Liga club.

Mosquera then went to Valencia’s Manises Airport to board a flight to London. Radio Marca asked him about the meeting with the Spanish club’s players and coaches.

“I’m very happy to see my former teammates again in what has been my home,” he said.

Mosquera joined Los Ches’ academy in 2016 and made his way into their first team in 2021, playing 90 matches.

The centre-back has signed a contract with Arsenal until 2030, with an option for another year.

Despite joining the Gunners a few months ago, he has left the door open for a future move back to Mestalla. Marca say Mosquera ‘didn’t hesitate’ to express his love for the Spanish club and the city.

“There’s nothing like Valencia. It’s a club that gave me everything from day one, one that I’ve fallen in love with, one that I’ve become,” Mosquera explained.

“Who knows? Life takes many twists and turns. Football takes you one place one day and another the next. But like Valencia, nothing; that’s for sure.”

Mosquera has played eight matches for the Gunners so far.
