Sevilla are considering signing Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré in the winter market, according to AS.
The Foxes let the midfielder spend the 2023/24 season on loan with the La Liga side. He played 34 matches and Sevilla wanted to extend his stay but couldn’t find an agreement with Leicester.
Since then, the 26-year-old has featured regularly for Leicester including this season in the Championship.
His contract expires in 2026 and Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Monday that AS Roma are looking to sign him for less than €10m. Claims elsewhere have mentioned Sevilla as an option.
AS relay that and then provide their take on the Andalusian club’s plan for the midfield.
Nemanja Gudelj’s contract expires in June, and the report states the possibility of Sevilla releasing him in January isn’t ruled out. If he were leave, director Antonio Cordón would look for a new midfielder.
This is where the Leicester player comes into the picture. Due to his contract situation, AS report Sevilla could try to sign him ‘at zero cost’.
It wouldn’t make sense for Leicester to release Soumaré as he’s started in eight matches this season. There are other clubs [Roma] considering paying a fee in the next window.
