Chelsea are attentive to Alejandro Balde’s situation at Barcelona, according to a report from Spain.
The 20-year-old is a product of the La Liga side’s academy and has been a regular for the first team since the start of last season. Last September, he was rewarded with a new deal until 2028 and that includes a release clause of €1bn.
It hasn’t stopped Premier League sides from showing interest in the left-back and the list includes Chelsea.
That’s according to Sport, who explain that ‘specifically, Chelsea’ are the team to have shown ‘most interest’ in Balde.
The Spain international has made 22 appearances this season, managing an assist in the process. As things stand, he has no intention of leaving the Camp Nou and the Catalan club also trust him to further improve his game.
Balde is aware of the interest shown by some Premier League sides, including the Blues, and that he has an opportunity to improve his salary. Despite this, he wants to continue at Barcelona.
The fullback is represented by Jorge Mendes and the super-agent has conveyed to the Blaugrana the possibility of selling his client next summer.
Mendes seems to be ready to carry out a deal after this season, considering that Barca have to sell some of their players after this season to make cash. However, they have closed the door on Balde’s exit for now.
