Queens Park Rangers have made advances in their efforts to sign Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Ivan Nevistić this summer.

Nevistić kept five clean sheets and conceded 20 goals from 18 matches this season. His performances and profile would have convinced QPR to try and sign him.

The Croatian started the season as the No.1 before losing his place to Dominik Livaković, who arrived on loan from Fenerbahçe in January.

There’s no clarity on whether Livaković will extend his stay at Dinamo Zagreb. Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed news of Crystal Palace’s interest in the Fenerbahçe man.

QPR want to wrap up signing quickly

However, Ivan Nevistić could be on the move, and the Championship could be his next destination.

That’s according to 24 Sata, who state QPR are serious about the goalkeeper, who could move to Loftus Road ‘very soon’.

Dinamo Zagreb won’t cause any problems for his exit and are waiting for a formal offer.

Sportske Novosti backs up this claim and provide their own updates on QPR’s efforts to secure his services.

Julien Stéphan’s side assured the stopper he’ll be their new No.1 when presenting their plan for him.

This allowed the player to reach an agreement for personal terms, for a three or four-year contract. The London club have to agree terms with his club. At the start of next week, QPR officials will arrive in Zagreb with the intention of closing this signing.

Dinamo Zagreb will facilitate his exit and the report state the operation should be done for a fee between €500k and €1m.

As of now, QPR are the ‘most realistic option’ even if unnamed German and Polish clubs are lurking in the background.

Goalkeeper priority for QPR

QPR finished 15th this season, conceding 73 goals. It was the second worst defensive record, behind [89 goals] bottom placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Julien Stéphan had Joe Walsh, Paul Nardi and Ben Hamer as three stoppers and the latter two have left the club.

This makes it a priority for the English club to sign a new stopper. FC Juárez goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado has been on their agenda, but Ivan Nevistić is likely to arrive at QPR.

The Croatian’s contract expires in 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €500k.
