Celta Vigo are keen on a deal for Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, but have set certain conditions before they will sign the 21-year-old.
Faro de Vigo report that the Spanish side want the academy graduate to arrive on a free transfer after terminating the remaining year of his deal with Liverpool.
The newspaper explains that the Liverpool midfielder is now ‘closer than ever’ to returning to his former club from Anfield.
Celta return possible
Celta Vigo want him back, although they are not currently considering him for the first team. Instead the plan is to place him in their youth set up so that he can regain match fitness.
The midfielder has spent a year and a half sidelined by a serious injury suffered last year. Since then, he has also suffered several muscle setbacks and hasn’t played a minute for the Reds.
The plan at Celta is to put him in their Fortuna set up so that he can regain match fitness in a ‘physically demanding competition’. It will also provide him with a pathway back to the first team.
Transfer with conditions
As he is only 21-years-old as well, he can alternate between the two squads. That is something which currently happens with several of their youth products. Celta are making it clear to him, though, he would have to earn his place.
They are offering the Liverpool midfielder the chance to regains his fitness and form at home. Their one condition, though, is that he terminates the remaining year of his Liverpool contract.
There is no indication that this will be an obstacle. According to Faro de Vigo, the midfielder does not feature in Andoni Iraola’s plans moving forwards. Liverpool are actively looking to move him on.
Celta are now offering a destination that could suit all parties, so long as they don’t have to pay anything to bring Bajcetic home.
