Today’s La Nazione – via ViolaNews, reports something is broken in the relationship between Dodo and Fiorentina. He was actively looking for a transfer in the summer and would’ve appreciated a move to Nottingham Forest. He had been waiting for offers for months but those that arrived were rejected by La Viola.
Last week, it emerged that the right-back is still in the club’s project and is waiting to return after the transfer saga. He’s blocked several journalists on social media and released statement saying: “I’m fine, very good. Don’t believe everything you hear.”
This is seen as a hint that he won’t sign a new deal at the club. There is a big chance he will leave Fiorentina for free in 2027 and could also depart in January.
Our take: Glasner has an upgrade
While Dodo has been key for Fiorentina in recent years, he has been erratic as a defender. This proved to be true as La Viola lost 4-0 to Roma some weeks ago and Dodo had a poor game.
He loves to cover distance on the right but his final ball is not reliable.
Clearly, Nottingham Forest have signed a better player in Munoz. He is well suited to Premier League football and his best came under Glasner. Going for Dodo when the Colombian was available made no sense, in hindsight.
