Djurgårdens IF’s Bo Hegland is happy that Newcastle United are keeping a close watch on him.

Newcastle United officials’ latest trip
The 22-year-old joined Djurgårdens IF from Norwegian side Moss FK in July 2025 and has managed eight goals and 17 assists.
This includes six goals and 14 assists from 19 matches in this calendar year. That’s an average of over one goal contribution per match.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered a report from Norway that Newcastle United scouts were in the attendance to watch him live in his side’s 4-0 win over Mjällby AIF on Monday.
Bo Hegland operated in his preferred role as an attacking midfielder and played the full 90 minutes. He impressed the Premier League side’s officials with two assists.
Focus on club despite Newcastle United scouting
The Norwegian has a contract until December 2029 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €2.5m.
When asked about the reported interest from Matthias Jaissle’s side, he said: “The simple answer is that I feel very comfortable at Djurgårdens IF.
“Maybe it would have been a different comment if I hadn’t felt so good here. We play football that suits me, I really enjoy myself on and off the pitch. It’s an easy choice.”
The English transfer window closed on Tuesday while a few leagues, including Saudi Arabia, have their windows still open.
On the possibility of moving to the Middle East, Bo Hegland explained: “No, that’s probably a bit too early… No, I’m enjoying playing at Djurgårdens IF. Right now, that’s the focus.”
Newcastle United scouts recently watched him. Expressen pointed out a move to St James’ Park can be a good option and asked, ‘what steps do you feel you could take when the time comes?’
Responding to that, he added: “Honestly, I haven’t thought too much about that. I’ve just been 100% focused on playing at Djurgårdens IF, and that’s what I’m doing.”
“Of course, it’s great that people are watching, but my focus is on developing in the Allsvenskan and becoming an even better player.”
