Strahinja Pavlovic has been performing well for AC Milan, and Manchester United interest is being talked up.
The Serbian has been one of the best players for the Rossoneri this season. That has been unexpected, as he struggled in the 2024/25 campaign.
Under Max Allegri, he’s been reliable as a left sided centre-back. His ball-carrying has been impressive, with the defender scoring five goals. The most recent one came against Atalanta at the weekend.
Interestingly, all of that came amidst growing interest from Manchester United. Sport Witness covered that, with Crystal Palace also mentioned as a possible destination.
Pavlovic’s goal has only increased the talk around his future, especially with Milan struggling.
Corriere dello Sport: Red Devils offer expected
Corriere dello Sport make it clear that AC Milan simply can’t miss out on Champions League football for another season. The Rossoneri will earn as much as €90m from qualification and this brings financial security.
Failure to achieve that will have disastrous consequences and everyone’s future will be in doubt – including Allegri and Pavlovic.
There is confidence the Serbia international is being pursued by Manchester United and other English clubs.
Corriere state the Red Devils are ‘ready to make €50m offer’ and take advantage of Milan’s situation.
Failure to qualify for Europe had led to Theo Hernandez’s sale before June 30th last year. Pavlovic’s sale can follow a similar pattern, especially if English clubs make offers at the right time.
Our take: Milan want sale to England
Clearly, AC Milan are trying build up Strahinja Pavlovic as a star. While he has been very important, he does have defensive weaknesses and they have been visible even this season.
Milan intend to capitalise when his value is high, now that English clubs can pay up. The 24-year-old is also at the right age, making him one of the most valuable players in the Rossoneri squad.
As of now though, Manchester United don’t need a centre-back. A suitor like Crystal Palace or Chelsea might present a better chance for Milan.
