Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur could sign Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde in the winter market.

The left-back had an opportunity to leave the Camp Nou in the summer, and Manchester United were keen. The disappointment hasn’t put them off as the Red Devils are still chasing him.

Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham have now joined Michael Carrick’s side in the transfer race.

The 23-year-old’s decision to stay backfired as he’s yet to start a match for Barcelona this season. He played 124 minutes from five matches and is behind João Cancelo and Xavi Espart in the pecking order.

Alejandro Balde’s situation at the Camp Nou is unlikely to improve and he’ll have to look for a way out in January. In September, we relayed news of Liverpool and the Red Devils’ interest.

Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered a report from Spain explaining that Manchester United want to make another attempt in January.

Sport now picks up on that and covers the latest about the duo, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Both the Spain international and his entourage have realised he’s unlikely to be a regular under Hansi Flick. Therefore, it would be in his interest to leave Barcelona in the winter market.

Alejandro Balde’s agent Jorge Mendes has already started working behind the scenes. He’s in contact with multiple clubs and will analyse options with his client in the coming weeks, to make a decision in December.

Barcelona are open to letting him leave for €40m, while the super-agent insists a loan with a buying option is ‘more viable’. It could also include conditions to convert it into an obligation.

The fullback’s first option is the Premier League and Mendes is already exploring options there.

Sport states Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa are all aware of the conditions to sign Balde. However, none of them have made a final decision yet. Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix, and further advances will depend on departures.

AS Roma and Juventus have also contacted the representative, but the finances make the deal complicated for both clubs. There will be movements in the coming weeks on Balde’s next destination.

The newspaper ends the report by stating: ‘The decision will be made in December, with the aim of finalising his departure during the January transfer window.’

What’s certain is that Balde wants to leave and Barcelona won’t block his exit. His priority is to move to England where Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City or Tottenham could be his next destination.
