Manchester United are expected to move for Argentinian rising talent Franco Mastantuono when he turns 18.
That’s according to Clarín, who double down on Manchester United’s interest in the youngster today and insist they’ll be moving for him.
A report yesterday stated that Manchester United had made their move for the 17-year-old, with them, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all reportedly keen.
That was the latest in a growing list of Manchester United reports about Mastantuono, who is considered the next rising talent in Argentine football.
Clarín double down on that today, stating that Manchester United are one of five sides who are ‘targeting’ him. Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea are the others.
Nobody has made a formal offer for the player as yet but all of them are expected to do so once he turns 18. He does that on August 14th, just 17 days before the end of the European transfer window.
River Plate would like to renew his contract, which expires in December 2026, and increase his current €45m release clause in the process. They, and the management, would like to keep the youngster for longer and his entourage are in agreement.
They don’t intend to listen to offers under the end of the year but offers are expected to arrive before then given the ‘flood of comments’ coming from Europe.
Everyone is talking about him at this moment in time and Manchester United are very much in the mix, seemingly waiting until he turns 18 to make their move.
