On Saturday, Erik ten Hag confirmed Manchester United have exercised the one-year extension clause in Diogo Dalot’s contract, meaning his new deal will now run until 2024.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is Dalot’s backup for the right-back position, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Manchester United are in the market looking for a new player in the same position to provide cover and competition to Dalot.
That’s at least what Media Foot are reporting, and they add the Premier League club have ‘clear ideas’ as Lyon’s Malo Gusto has been identified as the target.
Erik ten Hag’s side are preparing to make to move for the 19-year-old. Their board would have ‘validated’ an amount that approaches €30m in an ‘attempt to convince’ the French club.
According to the report, Lyon’s ‘priority is listening to offers’, especially if in excess of €30m.
Gusto, who has made 14 league starts this season, has over 18 months left on his deal. Due to the time left on the defender’s contract, Media Foot state the teenager is in a ‘strong position’ if he wants to change clubs.
