Conrad Harder has been linked with a host of clubs in recent weeks and Leeds United are making progress to sign him.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Santi Aouna about the striker’s situation. Lazio and Galatasaray were interested, with the Whites firmly in the race too.
So far at RB Leipzig, the forward hasn’t kicked on since joining from Sporting in 2025. Last season, he played less than 1000 minutes in the Bundesliga, finding the net only three times.
That has been seen as a sign that the player’s time at the East German club could already be up. Leeds United are pushing for a deal.
Lazio could be giving up
Today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera details Lazio’s chase for the Dane. They note that Petar Ratkov, who joined them in January, is on his way out. He is attracted by a move to Sevilla and the Rome club are awaiting his exit before signing another striker.
Harder is seen as a viable replacement, with Rino Gattuso keen on the 21-year-old.
However, Lazio’s move is getting complicated as Leeds United are now in advanced negotiations with Leipzig.
The terms of a transfer aren’t indicated but previously there have been signs the player could be available for a loan with an option to buy.
Lazio were ahead of Leeds United some days ago but that’s changed.
Our take: Player needs change
Earlier this week, it was stated Harder is actually being offered to several clubs – likely by his entourage. Leeds United were one of them and so were Galatasaray. This suggests the player is keen on playing regularly.
For Daniel Farke’s side, a loan would be suitable. They will be able to judge the player before executing a permanent deal, with little risk involved.
Lazio are struggling from a financial standpoint, especially as they have signed a striker in Andrea Pinamonti. All things considered, the Whites should have a good chance at signing Harder.
