Two days ago, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported Trabzonspor have made contact with West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuşlu’s agent.
Trabzonspor aren’t alone as Beşiktaş have also shown interest in the player, according to multiple reports from Turkey.
Yokuşlu has a year left on his contract and this summer will be West Brom’s last chance to collect a reasonable fee for him.
Fanatik say Beşiktaş have stepped in to sign the 30-year-old, and they have already been negotiating with both the Baggies and the player’s agent over a potential deal.
Sabuncuoğlu’s colleague at Sports Digitale, Sercan Dikme, has also shared a short update on this case.
Dikme claims ‘there is no agreement’ between the Black Eagles, the Championship side and the player for the transfer so far. In fact, he says there’s been ‘no movement’ over the past few days.
The journalist insists that Beşiktaş ‘could finish immediately’, if they wanted to secure the Turkey international’s services this summer. He makes no mention why they haven’t taken this step so far, but it should allow Trabzonspor to try and seal the deal for Yokuşlu.
The defensive midfielder made 48 appearances for the English club last season.
