Manchester United’s signing of Diego León continues to be a topic in Paraguay, with Versus Radio highlighting both the player’s adaptation and the expectations surrounding him. The outlet invited Renato Bittar, the defender’s representative, to share his perspective on the move.
Bittar stressed how significant the transfer is for the country, since León became the first Paraguayan to join Manchester United. He pointed out that the youngster carries “a backpack” of responsibility as a flag bearer abroad, while also opening or closing doors for those who may follow.
The agent underlined that León is handling the challenge with maturity, saying he is “happy with how he is enjoying it, being the first Paraguayan at Manchester United.”
Asked about the player’s first months, Bittar noted that León has already managed to feature in a friendly and even make the bench in official matches. “I think he will bring a lot of joy to the fans,” he said, emphasising the excitement this has brought to Paraguayan supporters.
The discussion also touched on how León is integrating in the dressing room. Journalists from Versus observed that training alongside figures such as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Lisandro Martínez is giving him invaluable lessons. They added that despite limited minutes, the daily environment makes him “very important” among teammates.
Bittar insisted that León’s personality is helping this process. He described him as “an excellent boy” who quickly earned respect from senior players thanks to his human qualities. In his words, the 19-year-old is “very focused and psychologically prepared” for the Premier League.
There was also mention of the player’s own conviction before making the move, recalling that he had publicly stated “I am going to stay” rather than expecting to be loaned out elsewhere. According to those close to him, that mentality is already visible in his work ethic at Carrington.
León’s next steps with Manchester United remain to be seen, but both his entourage and the Paraguayan press believe he has the right mindset to grow into a valuable figure on the left flank at Old Trafford.
