Liverpool and Nottingham Forest are keeping an eye on Gabriel Menegon, according to a report from ESPN Brazil.
The outlet claims that the 16-year-old goalkeeper has recently been the subject of enquiries from both Premier League clubs.
Menegon, who stands at 1.96m, is currently the first-choice goalkeeper for Brazil’s Under-17 side. He has been part of Grêmio’s academy since the age of 14 and is under contract with the Porto Alegre club until October 2027.
Alongside Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, other European sides are also monitoring his development. Despite the growing attention from Europe, Grêmio have not yet received a formal bid for their prospect.
The teenager is considered one of the brightest talents emerging from the Tricolor academy, with expectations that he could soon be promoted to the professional squad.
For now, the situation remains at the stage of scouting and enquiries, and the next steps will depend on whether any of the interested clubs decide to test Grêmio’s resolve with a concrete proposal.
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been heavily focused on Brazilian talent in recent years and has plans to further use that transfer route.
