Federico Chiesa is now into his third season at Liverpool and has repeatedly been told to seek an exit.
While the Italian has played 51 times in all competitions since his arrival, he has featured for only a little over 1000 minutes. That has been disappointing for the winger, who was a star for the national team before that.
But since joining Liverpool, his prominence with the Azzurri has also reduced. SportWitness have tracked how Italian clubs have been sensing the opportunity to sign him but a formal move has never materialised.
He has now been backed to find a new club.
Player told to join AS Roma

Angelo Di Livio spoke to ReteSport about a host of things involving Italian football. He was asked about Juventus and Roma and was also quizzed about Chiesa’s situation at Liverpool.
The ex-Juventus man made it clear that the decision to join the Merseyside club was incorrect.
He said: “Chiesa? He was wrong to go to Liverpool. Someone who knows how to play football always knows how to do it.”
Di Livio also made it clear that Roma would be a good destination for Chiesa. It would also put him in prominence for the national team too.
“He needs to recover, but I would sign him since he can play on both flanks. With Gasperini, Chiesa would return to the national team.”
Our take: Player needs game time
Gasperini’s Roma boast a very high work-ethic and this might not suit Chiesa at this point. Besides, he might not even be a regular at the Giallorossi, if he does join.
But he should receive more approaches from Italian clubs soon. Inter Milan have been mentioned as a suitor and they can make a move, if Luis Henrique leaves.
This will help Chiesa a lot, as he will play in a very stable environment. He needs to leave Liverpool, or his career will continue to falter.
