Crystal Palace‘s Chadi Riad says the Premier League side are aiming for more trophies after their recent success.
In May 2025, the Eagles won the FA Cup by overcoming Manchester City in the final and that was their first major success.
Three months later, Crystal Palace won the Community Shield and finished the season with UEFA Conference League success.
Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal proved to the difference between the English club and Rayo Vallecano in the final in May.
Defender made progress at Crystal Palace
The 22-year-old is with Morocco at the World Cup, and this gave Spanish newspaper AS an opportunity to interview him. Most of the chat was about the tournament, but he also talked about Crystal Palace.
Chadi Riad is a product of Barcelona’s academy, however, he couldn’t get regular opportunities at the Camp Nou. He joined Real Betis in 2023 and moved to England a year later.
AS say it’s been a dream career path so far at Barcelona, Real Betis and Crystal Palace, and asked what he has learnt from each club.
“I couldn’t be more grateful. As you said, I’ve played for these great teams at just 22 years old,” he said.
“The truth is, I’m very grateful to every club I’ve been at because I’ve learned so much at each one. As a footballer and as a person. Today I’m a different player and a better person.”
The Eagles finished 15th in the league but qualified for the Europa League by winning the UEFA Conference League.
AS asked the Moroccan what else can Crystal Palace achieve.
Riad explained: “From what we can see right now, Crystal Palace have no limits. We have very hard-working players. We’re a true team; we all work together, no matter who’s in charge, we always strive for the common good. We’re very happy to win these two trophies in these seasons.
“I can only thank the manager, the players, and the coaching staff because we have no limits. We’re going to keep working to win more trophies, absolutely.”
