Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho has ended up in Flamengo’s sights, according to Coluna do Fla and Surtados Raiz Futebol.
The Rio de Janeiro club are looking for a new player with international status for next season and this is where the attacking midfielder’s name has appeared.
Flamengo are monitoring the Aston Villa player and have come up with a formula to take him away from the Premier League side.
It’s explained the South American side’s ‘main wish’ is to sign the Brazil international on a loan deal. Unai Emery’s side are against this idea, and they will only accept to part ways with the 30-yeaar-old through a definitive sale.
Apart from this, Aston Villa also want the clubs interested in the former Liverpool star to pay the transfer fee in two instalments.
The stance maintained by the Villans to let go of Couitnho has become the ‘biggest obstacle’ for Flamengo to even open talks with them for a possible deal.
Aston Villa made Coutinho’s stay permanent in the summer after having initially signed him on loan from Barcelona in January. He has failed to score a goal or register an assist from 13 matches this season.
