Eredivisie side Feyenoord are seeking a date to bring Manchester United’s Tyrell Malacia back to the club to give him a farewell in front of the club’s fans.
The club announced today that they are set to hold a farewell for their former players who left this summer, with a date already set for Marcos Senesi and Luis Sinisterra.
They both departed for the Premier League this summer alongside Malacia, who joined Manchester United in a £13.5m deal at the beginning of July.
He’s not looked back since, establishing himself as a first choice under Erik ten Hag and featuring regularly in the busy schedule before the World Cup.
It means he has not been given an official farewell by his former club, who like to ‘dwell in an appropriate manner’ on the departure of players who have ‘meant a lot to the club’.
Malacia falls into that category after making 136 appearances for the Dutch side after working his way up through their youth ranks from 2015.
Thus, a date is ‘still being sought’ so the club and fans can ‘wave off’ the player from De Kuip in an official manner.
When that will be the case for the Manchester United man remains to be seen, but an effort is being made for him to return to his former club, nonetheless.
