Earlier this month, we covered claims from Argentina that Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal are chasing Boca Juniors’ Ezequiel Fernández.
Having graduated from the club’s academy, the midfielder made his way into their first team in 2021. He was on loan at Club Atlético Tigre in 2022 and after returning to Boca Juniors, he’s been a regular.
Boca Noticias indicate the 21-year-old’s displays have drawn the attention of several clubs, including Arsenal and Brighton.
The Premier League duo, along with Sevilla, Girona and Benfica are all ‘closely following’ the Argentina U23 international. This has put Boca Juniors ‘on alert’ as they could possibly receive offers for him.
With several European teams, including the Gunners and Roberto De Zerbi’s side, ‘trying to take him away’, Boca Juniors fear they could lose Fernández.
The website suggests Fernández’s long-term future will be in Europe and his club want to keep him as long as they can. They add Boca Juniors could collect a ‘large amount of money’ when he decides to leave.
Boca Noticias don’t mention any figures and Transfermarkt value Fernández at €8m.
